Dear Friends and Brothers,

The 4th Annual Scholarship Fundraising Dinner was held on Saturday April 5^th, 2008 at the Masonic Temple. The Hawaiian Luau was enjoyed by all who attended. All monies raised from this dinner go solely toward the Scholarship Fund and help to continue the vision that Ernie Freeman began over twenty years ago. ERNIE FREEMAN’S VISION

Ernest J. Freeman Jr., Master of Gulf Beach Lodge in 1984, had a vision. This vision was to create a scholarship fund that would grant deserving local students funds to assist in their college tuition. It was also his vision to create a fund which would be self perpetuating thereby being a source of assistance well into the future.

After the passing of WB Freeman the scholarship fund was renamed in his memory as the "Ernest J. Freeman Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund" and has helped support four college students each year since its inception.

Janice McShane Awarded 2007 Scholarship

Ms. Janice McShane of Boca Ciega High School was Awarded the Ernest J. Freeman Jr. Memorial Scholarship for 2007. Ms. McShane has an outstanding academic record as well as leadership strengths. She has plans to attend the University of Florida and seek a degree in Biology. The Award was presented at Gulf Beach Lodge by W:. David Brown and W:. Robert Calhoun,, Chairman of the Scholarship Committee.
