Br:. Bob Hewell Chief Rabban of Egypt Temple Shrine

Bob is a native of Elberton, Georgia, graduating from North Georgia College in 1952 with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration and a commission as Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He entered active duty immediately upon graduation spending twenty-two years in the Army. During this time he received various command and staff assignments of increasing responsibility and obtained qualification in both fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. He retired in 1974 as a Lieutenant Colonel with a specialty rating of Master Army Aviator. Upon retirement, Bob moved to Pinellas County and for a short time was the Company Pilot and Purchasing Agent for a wholesale tool company. 

In 1976 he joined the Pinellas County Sheriffs Office directing their Purchasing and Supply Division. After twelve years he joined Jaybar Communications, a company organized to provide cellular communications service to an area in southeast Arizona. In 1990 he was elected President of Jaybar and held that position until the company was sold in May of 2000, after which he became fully retired. 

Masonically, Bob was raised a Master Mason in Gulf Beach Lodge # 291 in November of 1989 serving as Lodge Treasurer for two years. He became a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies in 1990. 

He was initiated a Noble in Egypt Shrine in December of 1990, and currently holds appointments as an Aide, an Ambassador, and Captain of the Guard. He is a Past Commander of the Legion of Honor and still holds the position of Treasurer after twelve years. Bob is currently President of the Holiday Isles Shrine Club and lst Lt. Commander, Florida Shrine Association Legions of Honor. He is also an active member in the Ambassadors Shrine Club, Gentlemen of the Creek, Hillbilly Clan #35, Honor Patrol, Order of Quetzalcoatl, and most recently the York Rite Bodies. 

Bob married Lady Olivia in 1989 sharing four children and nine grandchildren.

Brothers Receive Proficiency Cards

Congratulations to the following brothers who received Proficiency cards from the District Instructor for their memory work with the ritual. Brothers Ralph Vaughan, Tom Willmot, Dick Sansom, Joe Finocchiaro, and Derryl O’Neal a SILVER CARD for all questions and answers in the catechisms. Brothers Dick Sansom and Derryl O’Neal, GREEN CARD for opening and closing the Lodge, and esoteric degree work in the EA & FC degrees. Good job brothers !!!
