PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

botwoodsd@tampabay.rr.com

Brothers,

You may have seen this before... But I believe it not only fits us as Masons but all mankind. Further, it fits our Masonic society as "friends and brothers" in peace and harmony in our hearts, souls and consciences.

"Peace of mind, peace of heart and peace of soul; squash gossip, squash indifference, squash grumbling, squash selfishness; let us be faithful; let us be kind, let us be patient, let us really love one another. Turn up for meetings, turn up for service and turn up to help one another. Time for each other, time for family, and time with friends".

Remember, there is much fruit in your garden because you reap what you sow.

Fraternally and Sincerely,

Billy Garrett Jr.  PM,

President

VICE PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

doneal@ci.madeira-beach.fl.us

There is no reason a Mason should ever be bored!

As I review our calendar since the first of the year, I see numerous opportunities for us to improve our Fraternity and socialize both inside and outside of our regular Lodge meeting. Within our regular Lodge meetings, there are a lot of very active Lodges doing very good degree work for our newly obligated brothers. Everyone should show their support when these brothers are being initiated, passed and especially raised! Remember how you felt when you were raised.

Outside our regular meetings, there are many opportunities to fellowship and enjoy the camaraderie of our Fraternity. I would like to focus on three. First, Masons should never be hungry! With this in mind, there was an estimated 25 events where food was available. Masons should be informed concerning Masonic activities! There were about 8 events surrounding Masonic Board meetings, Zone Schools of Instruction and Shrine Hospital tours. And last but not least, Masons should be entertained and happy. Here we find baseball events, trips to the theatre and the horse racing track, and bowling tournaments.

Coordinating all of these events to get the maximum participation is important. Before your Lodge schedules an event, take a few minutes to see what else has been scheduled at the other Lodges. Check out the calendar on the Suncoast Masters and Wardens Assn website. This allows everyone an equal opportunity to participate in your event; it increases our cooperation and the closeness that we feel as Masons!

On a final note: my congratulations to my brothers from Sutherland Lodge #174 who came in 2nd Place (again) in the Bowling Tournament!

Fraternally,

Derryl B. O’Neal, PM

Vice President

DISTRICT 21 DDGM MESSAGE

Brothers,

We are getting close to our Grand Communication. There will be a legislative meeting at Fellowship Lodge in Tampa April 19th. There will be a dinner at 6:30 P.M. followed by the meeting at 7:30 P.M.

I encourage all to attend so you can become familiar with the legislation being proposed at Grand Lodge this year. You can then take that information back to your Lodge so all the Brothers may discuss how they would like their representatives to support their wishes.

Fraternally,

Danny Robinson, DDGM

FROM THE SECRETARY’S DESK

jrclouser@msn.com

Brothers:

As acting Secretary pro tem of your Association, I would like to invite and encourage the sitting Officers of all particular Lodges in Districts 20 & 21 to join the membership of The SunCoast Masters and Wardens Association. Get Active! Attend the meetings and offer your ideas and thoughts. This Association can survive only with the support and ideas of the membership. At the last meeting we had only nine Lodges out of fourteen represented. Not only do we need your attendance at our meetings, but at our functions and fund raisers as well. Even if you do not participate, I’m sure if you would attend, you would enjoy some great fellowship with your Brothers. Participation is not required, but I’m certain you would be welcomed to be a part of our activities. Thanking You, in advance, for your future attendance and participation

Fraternally,

James R. Clouser, PDDGM

Secretary

FROM THE TREASURER’S DESK

dahmason@aol.com

Brothers,

All is well from the Treasurers office. R\W\ Rick Hoover left the books totally in order, as I knew he would. The auditing committee consisting of R\W\Howard Knapp; W\ David Brown; and W\ Remko Van Der Voordt reviewed the transactions, and found them to be totally efficient.

If any member of the Masters and Wardens wishes to see a Treasure’s report with any specific information, please e-mail me before the next meeting and I will try to accommodate your request.

At the last meeting In March, I tried to include things I thought you might want to see, and I hope that it was sufficient. Lots of things are happening in April and May, and I certainly hope all of you will take part in the Masonic Events, and enjoy the fellowship and brotherhood of the Fraternity.

I pledge to keep the financial books in order, and certainly appreciate the opportunity to serve the Suncoast Masters and Wardens Association as Treasurer.

Fraternally,

David A. Henderson, PDDGM, Treasurer
