MASTER'S MESSAGE

My Brothers,

WOW, what an exciting month February was!

The District Deputy Grand Master (DDGM) Ed Street's visit to the lodge was outstanding with over fifty brothers present. At that meeting we were honored to have with us Most Worshipful William H. Berman, Grand Master of the great state of New Jersey. A big thank you to Brother Fernando Salazar, Junior Warden, for the wonderful meal before the meeting.

On February the 6th, before he was shipped out to boot camp in the U.S. Navy on the 9th of February, we initiated, passed, and raised Brother Patrick Ward in six hours with the help of thirty brothers.

On the 11th of February we initiated three more candidates: Louis Pinto, Michael Castleman and Russel Wood. The 3rd Annual Weekday Fish Fry was well attended. I can't thank the brothers of Gulf Beach Lodge enough for all of their help.

The elevator is installed and working and has already been put to use getting brothers into the lodge room.

Good things are happening at Gulf Beach Lodge and I am looking forward to seeing more brothers on the side-lines this month. Don't forget, the lodge breakfast is March 7th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come on out and enjoy an excellent breakfast with your friends and family.

Upon the Square,

Tom Willmot, Worshipful Master

SENIOR WARDEN’S MESSAGE

Brothers,

Through the generous donations of brothers who have left to that celestial lodge and the hard work by brothers of this lodge, the new lift is installed and is ready for use. Anyone who has not been attending as a result of the stairs can now rest assured that there is an easy and comfortable way to get into the lodge room. Brothers John Anthony, Allen Godfrey, and Travis Palladeno spear-headed the installation and it’s due to their dedication that this project became a reality. All those who assisted these brothers in the course of their arduous labors are to be thanked as well. I would sincerely recommend that anyone who has not taken the time to leave the lodge with a gift in their final arrangements should consider doing so as this tremendous feature would never have been possible without such charity and, as we all know, ‘charity extends past the grave and into the boundless realms of eternity’.

Our first scheduled Adopt-a-Highway and lodge cleanup is scheduled for March 6th at 8:30 am. Many hands provide for light labor and we will be tidying up the outside and inside of the lodge now that our major renovation for the year is completed.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the cleanup on the 6th and in lodge.

On the Level,

Joe Finocchiaro, Senior Warden

JUNIOR WARDEN’S MESSAGE

Brothers,

How encouraging it is to see so many new worthy candidates seeking to join the craft. We have a very dynamic and enthusiastic lodge. The degree work we have been seeing recently, especially with its being the beginning of the new year, AL 6010, has been one of the best I have ever seen. The Brotherly Love and quality of Degree work has been second to none. Please continue to support your brothers and Lodge in all of their endeavors, and remember we are here to support you whenever we can. Your commitment, support and attendance give testament to the values we brethren hold dear.

The Fish Fry has been a great success every year. I encourage you to join us at future events. Remember our breakfast the first Sunday of every month. The next breakfast is March 7th starting at 9am.

The term Warden is derived from the Middle English word "Wardein" and from the Anglo-French word, circa the 13th Century, "Gardein", meaning guard or guardian. The definition of the word Warden has many different meanings in today's world, however its basic meaning is one having care of, or being in charge of something with supervisory duties, or with the enforcement of specified laws or regulations.

By the Plumb,

Fernando Salazar, Junior Warden
